One Final Summer Project

The weather has definitely turned cooler and drearier today.  I thought I’d share one final Summer-themed project that I completed a while ago.  This is what I started with:

My Dad made these rough bird houses from leftover scrap pressure-treated wood.  The nails aren’t finishing nails, so I couldn’t set them.  So, I just started by sanding, then priming.

My daughter painted them with three different colors:

This is a great project for kids!

I put these up in random trees in the back yard.  I can see them out of my kitchen window.  The colors are so cheerful!
