Another Easter Dress…

As I wrote earlier, I’ll show you another Easter dress from probably 6 years ago.  This is one of my favorites.

It’s one of my favorites because it was made from one of my absolute favorite, TNT patterns at the time for little girls, Collars Etc Yoke Dresses 1.  The idea and embroidery pattern came from the Jan/Feb 2002 edition of Creative Needle Magazine.

I embroidered the scalloped collar by hand with a single colored floss.  The fabric was lovely finella batiste, prized for its gauzy appearance and luminescent sheen.  It was beautiful to work with, but wrinkled like the devil.  The article highlighted the simplistic beauty of the dress, which, of course drew me in.  It was only 2 colors, white and blue.  Anyway, I think this is one of the most beautiful dresses I’ve ever made.
